We are currently working with international authorities on the search and rescue mission and as at 1400 hours, 08 March 2014, we have no information on the location of the airline.
MH370 is a Boeing 777-200 aircraft on a code share with China Southern Airlines.. It departed Kuala Lumpur at 12.41 am today for Beijing. The aircraft was scheduled to land at Beijing International Airport at 6.30am local Beijing time. The flight had a total number of 227 passengers and 12 crew members. The passengers were from 14 different countries, most of whom are from China.
Our team is currently calling family members of passengers to keep them updated on the situation and our focus now is to work with the emergency responders and the authorities. We are sending a MH team to support the families of passengers at Beijing. The airline will continue to publish regular updates on the situation.

The Malaysian Insider news site is reporting that relatives of people on board the flight will be taken to the site once the airliner has been found. It has interviews with family members who have gone to Kuala Lumpur International airport to await news of the plane’s fate.

It quotes Lokman Mustafa, 40, whose brother, Suhaili, 31, was among those on the flight.

U.S. officials told NBC News on Saturday they are investigating terrorism concerns after two people listed as passengers on the missing Malaysia Airlines jet turned out not to be on the plane and had reported their passports stolen.

Counter-terrorism agencies across the world are investigating the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 after it emerged that at least four passengers were using false passports.

More than 36 hours after Flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing vanished, a huge search and rescue operation had found no trace of the plane or its 239 passengers.

The Chinese authorities, meanwhile, said that the passport number of one of the Chinese passengers did not match the name - Zhao Qiwei - on the manifest.
Mr Hussein said the FBI was now involved in the case, and American officials are thought to be checking the passenger manifest against a list of suspected terrorists.

Earlier, Malaysia Airlines had played down the use of two stolen passports, saying that any passengers headed to Beijing would have had to apply for a Chinese visa.

The two men also bought consecutively numbered tickets - 7842280116099 and 7842280116100 - suggesting that they had purchased them at the same time.
"What are the chances that one person boards a Malaysia Airlines plane on a stolen Caucasian passport?" asked one aviation expert who asked not to be named. "Maybe it is one in a thousand. Two? One in a million," he added.
After checking the names of passengers Kozel and Maraldi, the Austrian and Italian governments said that neither man was on board. Both had their passports stolen in Thailand over the last two years, and Mr Maraldi had been issued a new one according to the Italian media.

We look to ensure they have a visa, if they have a visa and it looks legitimate and everything else about the customer is legitimate we will load them on the plane," he said.

Another spokesman for the airline added that all the photographs had matched the passports of the passengers.

However, the fate of flight MH370 remains a mystery. Aviation experts said they were puzzled by the absence of debris on the waters of the Gulf of Thailand, the last known location of the plane.

@zygame 这简直和2009年法航447的失事过程一样啊，都是起飞后不久，在向上一个联络点报告后失去联系，同样没有发出人工求救信号，最后法航447事故调查认定是属于人为失误，处置不当造成的。
当然之前也有华航的一起事故由于多年前维修不善导致空中突然解体的先例，马航的这架飞机曾经被撞过机翼，所以这种可能性也不小。

@wudiwd1234 区别在于雷达跟踪轨迹，人的问题还是飞机的问题，雷达最后的跟踪轨迹很重要，解体会有分散的回波，而且应答机会立刻停止工作，如果应答机一直在工作直到坠海，那多半是人的问题
突然失聯的話，要麽是空中解體，要麽是恐怖襲擊（炸彈）吧？
